Morrow Introduces Liebherr’s 200 DR 5/10

morrow-liebherr-200-dr-5-10Liebherr’s derrick crane, the 200 DR 5/10 has been introduced to the North American market by Morrow Equipment. Morrow leased the derrick to Seattle-based Sellen Construction to dismantle a Liebherr 355 HC-L luffing tower crane. Once the crane was out of the way, the derrick picked and placed the remaining structural steel, HVAC equipment and roofing materials.

“The Liebherr derrick had the right combination of small footprint and lift capacity,” said Scott Amick, Sellen’s senior project engineer.

The Liebherr 200 DR 5/10 has an 82-foot (25 m) reach, 22,000-pound (10 tonne) lift capacity and comes with frequency-controlled, stepless drives for slewing, luffing and hoisting. A PLC control system monitors movements and the derrick also has sensors that monitor lifting height, load moment, boom angle and the swing gear.
