A 1,000 tonne Liebherr BOS 35000 heavy lift crane aboard the support vessel Caballo Marango has been successfully tested in the sea off the port of Rostock.
The overload test involved lifting a 1,100 tonne load – a barge – with its 102 metre boom.
The Caballo Marango will be used on assembly and reconstruction work on oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico for the Mexican service company Oceanografia. The crane has also been designed for the installation of offshore wind farms.
