Jib option new for Manitowoc 16000

WRITTEN BY

Manitowoc has introduced a fixed jib option for its 400 tonne capacity model 16000 lattice boom crawler crane to complement the existing luffing jib attachment.

The new fixed jib has 93 tonnes capacity and a maximum length of 42.7 metres. At a length of 24.4 m the fixed jib can be installed on a 72 m main boom.

The new jib reduces rigging time for jobs where a luffing jib is now required, the manufacturer said. Manitowoc envisages that the fixed jib will be used in offshore oil platform fabrication yards, on transportation and infrastructure projects, as well as in refineries and petrochemical facilities.
