Marco IslandThe crane, a veteran unit owned by Marco Marine Construction, overturned sometime on Friday night, no one was injured in the incident.

Oil containment booms were placed around the vessel, the company said there was very little diesel in the fuel tank and that only small quantities of oil have leaked so far.

The crane and barge were moored at a vacant residential lot ready for use on a future project.

Vertikal Comment

The incident sounds almost identical to the last one in that the barge took on water listed and tipped the crane into the canal.

You would have thought that having happened once in such a small place precautions would have been taken to ensure that it would not happen again.
