Big crawler overturns in Singapore

WRITTEN BY

A crawler crane operating with long boom and jib flipped over backwards on a construction site in Singapore yesterday. No was injured in the incident.

Singapore, Crawler 1

The crane went over backwards

The crane looks to have been well set up on timber mats, but the jib appears to have gone over the back with such force that it has taken the whole crane with it. The incident occurred on a new build site on an industrial estate in the Hougang area of the city.

Singapore, Crawler 2

The crane had a a decent amount of boom and jib erected

This is the third major crane incident in Singapore in the past few months, and the second crawler crane overturn. So far this is all the information we have.

Singapore, Crawler 3

It looks as though the jib going over the back may have been the cause
