Boom truck over

WRITTEN BY

A boom truck overturned onto a house in Tequesta, Florida, (north of Palm Beach) yesterday, while lifting an air conditioning unit. Thankfully no one was hurt in the incident.

The overturned crane

While the outriggers were not properly set up in terms of mats or spreader plates, this does not appear to have played any part in the overturn, which looks to be more related to simple overloading/lifting beyond the radius fort the weight of the load.

According to the local fire and rescue department the crane, an RO Stinger/Terex Stinger, is owned by Crane Service and Rigging.
