TARPON SPRINGS — A 71-year-old man died Monday afternoon when a crane he was operating at a Tarpon Springs marina fell over, throwing him to the pavement.
It happened around 5:30 p.m., said the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. Ivan Hubbert, 56 Drury Lane, was working at the Home Port Marina, 135 Orange St., when the tipping crane sent him to the ground. Deputies said he suffered severe head trauma.
Representatives from the Operational Safety and Health Administration are investigating.
